Rebuilding legal research in Saudi Arabia, one statute at a time

At Qanoniah we build the legal search engine practitioners rely on every day: search across Saudi statutes and judgments, and a document viewer that highlights text and takes notes. If you want work thousands of professionals feel, you belong here.

Qanoniah started from a simple question: why does a legal professional spend half their time on work software could do? We build the tools that give that time back, and everyone who joins moves us a step closer.

Our story

Every Saudi statute in one search engine

Qanoniah started in Makkah in 2018 as a legal search engine bringing Saudi statutes, judgments and legal documents into one place. Today lawyers, researchers and in-house teams rely on us to reach the right statutory text in seconds — and to read, highlight and annotate it without leaving the platform.

We put legal specialists, engineers and designers on one team. That mix is what makes the product precise about statutory detail and fast to use, and it makes working here an education at the intersection of law and technology.

What our team says

"I came from a traditional law firm, and the first surprise was that my legal opinion actually changes the product. Here I do not just apply the law — I help build the tool the whole profession will work in."

Engineering team

"The hardest and most enjoyable engineering problem I have worked on: understanding Arabic legal text automatically. Every line we write is tested against real statutes and judgments, and you see the impact the same week."

"The flexibility here is real, not a slogan. I work from Abha most of the month and come to Makkah for planning week. I have never once felt far from the team or the decision."

Our values

The principles we work by

Six values we measure our decisions, our hiring and our promotions against. If you do not see them in our day, hold us to them.

01

Accuracy earns trust

Our customers build legal decisions on what we give them. We check twice, and we prefer the right answer to the fast one when the two disagree.

02

Speed without cutting compliance

We move at a technology company's pace and ship constantly — inside clear limits on compliance, privacy and data security that we never cross.

03

Long-term thinking

We are building legal digital infrastructure meant to serve this market for decades. We prefer the decision that still holds in five years to the win that expires next quarter.

04

Candour with respect

We give feedback directly and with intent to help. An honest conversation early is kinder than politeness that costs the product and the team later.

05

One team

Lawyer, engineer and designer sit at the same table from day one. No walls between disciplines, and success belongs to the team, not the individual.

06

The future of legal work

We believe access to legal services is a right that software widens. Every feature we ship is measured by one question: did it make legal work easier and fairer?
